Director appointments complete AIA board

Agricultural Innovation Australia Ltd (AIA) has appointed two directors to round out its inaugural board.

Joining the AIA Board are:

Ms Kathy Grigg FCPA FAICD
Ms Grigg is an experienced non-executive director on boards across a range of industries, with a strong focus on agribusiness and financial services.

She is a Deputy Chancellor of Deakin University, director of GrainCorp Ltd, director of Suncorp Portfolio Services Ltd and member of the Audit Committee at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Ms Grigg’s previous board, executive and consultant roles span the wine, wool, pork, red meat and dairy industries.

Ms Anne O’Donnell FAICD SF Fin
Ms O’Donnell has over 40 years’ experience in the finance sector and has held board and executive positions in listed, not-for-profit and mutual sectors.

She is a director of Equity Trustee Holdings Ltd and an external member of the National Capital Authority Audit Committee, the UBS Global Asset Management (Australia) Ltd Compliance Committee and is the Australian Banking Association representative on the Banking Code Compliance Committee.

Ms O’Donnell former roles include Managing Director of Australian Ethical Investment Ltd, Chair of Beyond Bank and Director of Grain Growers Association Ltd.

“With the appointment of Ms Grigg and Ms O’Donnell, the AIA board is now complete,” said AIA Chair, Bernie Brookes.

“The newly appointed directors bring skill sets that complement those of the existing directors, particularly in the areas of finance and investment.

“Ms O’Donnell’s extensive knowledge of the banking, investment and wealth management industries will be valuable as AIA develops investment strategies.

“Ms Grigg’s additional experience across multiple agricultural industries and knowledge of the research sector will also be an asset to the board, given AIA’s whole-of-sector approach to agricultural innovation.”

Mr Brookes said that the board is now in the process of appointing AIA’s Chief Executive Officer.

AIA’s board is independent and skills-based. As the company’s founding members, Australia’s 15 Rural Research and Development Corporations approved the suitability and selection criteria for the inaugural board.
